PRACTICE DESCRIPTION
A seasoned clinician and widely respected academician, Dr. Possick has been practicing full time at Westwood Dermatology Group since 1970. He treats both adults and children and his areas of expertise are wide. His particular interests consist of all aspects of cutaneous medicine, including surgery of the skin, screening for skin cancer, treatment of allergies and eczema of the skin, treatment of complicated cases of acne, and treatment of bacterial, fungal and viral infections of the skin.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Dr. Possick is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at New York University School of Medicine. He has taught residents at New York University School of Medicine’s Skin and Cancer Clinic since 1971, serving as Chief of Service for 25 years. Dr. Possick is on staff at Hackensack Meridian Health Pascack Valley Medical Center and is an affiliate Staff Member at Hackensack University Medical Center.
EDUCATION
Dr. Possick graduated from Tufts University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science degree, and from Tufts University School of Medicine with an M.D. degree in 1964. He finished two years of Internal Medicine residency at Maimonides Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY and Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He completed his dermatology residency in 1968 at New York University School of Medicine, Skin and Cancer Clinic and served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. Following the completion of his residency in Dermatology, Dr. Possick spent the next two years at the National Institutes of Occupational Health and Safety for the United States Public Health Service where he performed clinical and research in Occupational Dermatology. Dr. Possick is Board Certified in Dermatology.
