PRP Facial Rejuvenation

PRP Facial with Microneedling

Microneedling is a unique cosmetic procedure that is primarily used to minimize the signs of aging. During treatment, your provider uses a special roller or device with needles to prick the skin and stimulate new collagen production. These microscopic surface openings help the patients previously harvested plasma become absorbed into the skin. The plasma helps diminish the destructive effects of inflammation and stimulates promote the new development of skin collagen.

What is microneedling?

Treatment with microneedling promotes skin rejuvenation by creating small puncture wounds in the epidermis and dermis. This injury triggers the wound healing cascade and modulates  growth factors to promote regenerative effects and help smooth and tighten skin.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma therapy, or PRP, is a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation that uses your own blood to improve the appearance of facial tissue. A small amount of your blood is drawn and is then placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the platelets and plasma from the other components of the blood. The platelets contain several growth factors that can help stimulate cell growth, collagen thereby promoting tissue regeneration. After the plasma and platelets are separated from the rest of the blood, they are injected or applied topically to rejuvenate the skin.

What can I expect in a PRP microneedling appointment?

A  numbing cream is applied for 30 minutes prior to the procedure, during which your blood will be drawn from your arm or hand. After the platelet-rich plasma is separated, the provider will use the microneedling device to create channels that will allow for the penetration of the PRP.

How long does the PRP microneedling treatment last?

The results of this facial PRP therapy may last up to one year. We recommend maintaining your skin results and performing follow up treatments every 6-12 months.
