RF Microneedling

Benefits of RF Microneedling

Radio Frequency Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that has been used for decades to rejuvenate sun damaged and aging skin. A device with fine needles or pins creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as skin resurfacing. Morpheus8® is a device that combines microneedling with radiofrequency. The RF energy is delivered via small needles into the dermis. In addition to the benefits seen with the micro-injury provided by the traditional microneedles, RF micro-needling also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction.

What to Expect from the Procedure:

A topical numbing cream is applied to the skin 30 minutes before the procedure. When the procedure begins, you might feel a slight prickling sensation followed by a feeling of warmth as the tiny needles pass over your skin. The advanced technology of Morpheus8® provides controlled and consistent heat delivery allowing for uniform treatment and results.

Benefits of the Procedure:

  • Improves discolorations of the skin
  • Reduces the visibility of acne scarring
  • Reduces the signs of sun damage and premature aging
  • The procedure can help with skin laxity, such as a sagging jowl line
  • Irregular skin tone and texture
  • Reduces the visibility of stretch marks
  • Reduces the appearance of enlarged pores

Depending on your skin type and the desired results, you may only need one treatment, or you may need a series of 2 to 3 treatments. These are usually spaced out every 4-6 weeks to allow your skin time to recover between treatments.

Possible side-effects:

RF micro-needling is considered a very safe procedure. You may experience redness or swelling following treatment that is similar to a sunburn. This is temporary and should resolve within one week. You may also experience peeling as the area begins to heal from Morpheus8® treatment. We recommend the application of a moisturizer and quality sunscreen to protect your skin as it goes through the process of deep renewal.
